Maroubra House was a new construction with an interesting client brief to create a robust concrete house in a Sydney beachside suburb. The project created a new 5-bedroom large family home over 250 sqm with a vision to withstand time and use, ensuring the house would perform well beyond the initial owner’s occupation. The energy efficiency of the dwelling was also an integral design factor whilst developing an aesthetic aligning with the client’s desires for a family home.

The strong presence of exposed precast concrete panel construction directed the interior aesthetic, complimented with warm timbers and steel accents to curate a robust and minimal scheme. An idyllic feature of this project is the pool positioned below the back deck, enabling a uniquely functional exterior space perfect for entertaining all year round. The pivotal decking plane lifts to reveal the swimming pool below, exemplifying the dynamic capabilities of the residence.
